Salutări
1 Pavel, apostol al lui Hristos Iisus prin voinţa lui Dumnezeu, către sfinţii care sunt în Efes şi care cred în Hristos Iisus, 2 har vouă şi pace de la Dumnezeu Tatăl nostru şi de la Domnul Iisus Hristos.
Binecuvântări în Hristos
3 Binecuvântat să fie Dumnezeu Tatăl Domnului nostru Iisus Hristos care ne-a binecuvântat, în Hristos, cu toată binecuvântarea duhovnicească, în ceruri, 4 după cum ne-a ales în El, înainte de întemeierea lumii, ca să fim sfinţi şi nevinovaţi înaintea Lui. Din iubire, 5 Dumnezeu a hotărât de mai înainte să ne înfieze pentru Sine, prin Iisus Hristos, după cum a vrut în bunăvoinţa sa, 6 spre lauda slavei harului Său, pe care ni l-a dăruit în Fiul Său cel iubit. 7 În El avem răscumpărarea prin sângele Lui, iertarea păcatelor, după bogăţia harului Său 8 pe care l-a revărsat cu prisosinţă asupra noastră, în toată înţelepciunea şi priceperea. 9 Dumnezeu ne-a făcut cunoscută, după bunăvoinţa sa, taina voii Lui, pe care a hotărât-o de mai înainte în Hristos, 10 pentru a o aduce la desăvârşire la împlinirea vremurilor: să adune toate în Hristos, cele din ceruri şi cele de pe pământ, în El. 11 Dumnezeu a hotărât mai dinainte, conform planului Său – căci El înfăptuieşte totul după hotărârea voinţei Lui – să ne aleagă în El, 12 ca să fim spre lauda slavei Lui, noi, primii care am nădăjduit în Hristos. 13 În El, şi voi, după ce aţi auzit cuvântul adevărului, evanghelia mântuirii voastre, şi aţi crezut în El, aţi fost pecetluiţi cu Duhul Sfânt cel făgăduit. 14 Duhul Sfânt este garanţia moştenirii noastre, pentru răscumpărarea celor câştigaţi de El, spre lauda slavei Lui.
Rugăciunea lui Pavel
15 De aceea, de când am auzit despre credinţa voastră în Domnul Iisus şi despre iubirea pe care o aveţi pentru toţi sfinţii, 16 nu încetez să mulţumesc pentru voi, pomenindu-vă în rugăciunile mele, 17 pentru ca Tatăl slavei, Dumnezeul Domnului nostru Iisus Hristos, să vă dea Duhul înţelepciunii şi al revelaţiei, ca să-L cunoaşteţi. 18 Mă rog ca înţelegerea voastră să fie iluminată astfel încât să cunoaşteţi nădejdea la care El v-a chemat, bogăţia slavei moştenirii Lui în cei sfinţi, 19 şi măreţia covârşitoare a puterii Lui în noi, cei credincioşi, potrivit cu lucrarea puterii Lui celei mari. 20 Prin ea, Dumnezeu a lucrat în Hristos, înviindu-L din morţi şi aşezându-L la dreapta Lui, în ceruri, 21 mai presus decât orice stăpânire, putere, tărie şi domnie, şi mai presus de orice nume invocat, nu numai în lumea de acum, ci şi în cea viitoare. 22 Şi Dumnezeu a supus toate lucrurile la picioarele lui Hristos şi pe El L-a dat mai presus de toate cap Bisericii, 23 care este trupul Său, plinătatea celui ce împlineşte totul în toţi.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: 4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. 7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; 8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; 9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: 10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: 11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: 12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13 In whom ye also trusted , after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, 16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; 17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places , 21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: 22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
