1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: 6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. 7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. 8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. 9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 11 Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed. 12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: 14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. 15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. 16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: 17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. 18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. 19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. 20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming. 24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. 27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. 28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all. 29 Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead? 30 And why stand we in jeopardy every hour? 31 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. 32 If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die. 33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. 34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? 36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: 37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain : 38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. 39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. 40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. 41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. 42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: 43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. 47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. 48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. 49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
Importanţa învierii lui Hristos
1 Vă aduc aminte, fraţilor, evanghelia pe care v-am vestit-o, pe care aţi şi primit-o, în care, de altfel, staţi cu tărie, 2 prin care sunteţi mântuiţi, dacă o păstraţi aşa cum v-am vestit-o. Altfel, aţi crezut în zadar. 3 Căci v-am dat în primul rând ceea ce am primit şi eu, că Hristos a murit pentru păcatele noastre, după cum au scris Scripturile, 4 şi că a fost îngropat şi a înviat a treia zi, după cum au scris Scripturile; 5 şi că i s-a arătat lui Chefa, apoi celor doisprezece; 6 apoi s-a arătat în acelaşi timp la peste cinci sute de fraţi, dintre care cei mai mulţi trăiesc până astăzi, iar unii au adormit. 7 Apoi i s-a arătat lui Iacov, apoi tuturor apostolilor; 8 În urma tuturor, ca unui prunc născut la timp nepotrivit, mi s-a arătat şi mie. 9 Fiindcă eu sunt cel mai neînsemnat dintre apostoli şi nu sunt vrednic să mă numesc apostol, pentru că am persecutat Biserica lui Dumnezeu. 10 Însă prin harul lui Dumnezeu sunt ceea ce sunt şi harul Lui care este în mine nu a fost degeaba, căci m-am ostenit mai mult decât ei toţi. Dar nu eu, ci harul lui Dumnezeu care este în mine. 11 Deci, fie eu, fie ei, noi aşa propovăduim şi voi aşa aţi crezut.
Învăţătură despre învierea morţilor
12 Dacă Hristos este vestit că a înviat din morţi, cum de spun unii dintre voi că nu există înviere din morţi? 13 Dacă nu există înviere a morţilor, nici Hristos n-a înviat! 14 Dacă Hristos nu a înviat, degeaba este şi propovăduirea noastră, degeaba este şi credinţa voastră. 15 Mai mult, suntem dovediţi ca martori mincinoşi ai lui Dumnezeu, căci împotriva lui Dumnezeu am mărturisit că L-a înviat pe Hristos, pe care Dumnezeu, dacă morţii nu învie, nu L-a înviat. 16 Căci dacă morţii nu învie, nici Hristos nu a înviat. 17 Iar dacă Hristos n-a înviat, deşartă este credinţa voastră şi sunteţi încă în păcatele voastre; 18 iar cei care au adormit în Hristos, au pierit. 19 Dacă nădăjduim în Hristos numai în viaţa aceasta, suntem mai de plâns decât toţi oamenii.
20 Dar Hristos a înviat acum, fiind primul rod al învierii dintre cei adormiţi. 21 Şi pentru că printr-un om a venit moartea, tot printr-un om a venit şi învierea morţilor. 22 Căci precum în Adam toţi mor, la fel şi în Hristos toţi vor învia, 23 însă fiecare la rândul lui: Hristos rodul cel dintâi, apoi cei ai lui Hristos, la venirea Lui. 24 Apoi va veni sfârşitul, când Domnul îi va da lui Dumnezeu Tatăl Împărăţia, când se va desfiinţa orice domnie, orice stăpânire şi orice putere. 25 Fiindcă trebuie ca El să domnească până ce îi va pune pe toţi vrăjmaşii Săi sub picioarele Sale. 26 Şi va fi nimicit şi ultimul vrăjmaş, moartea. 27 Căci toate le-a supus sub picioarele Lui. Iar când zice că toate I-au fost supuse , este limpede că toate, afară însă de Cel care I-a supus Lui toate. 28 Iar când toate Îi vor fi supuse, atunci Fiul Însuşi se va supune Celui ce I-a supus Lui totul, ca Dumnezeu să fie totul în toate.
29 Deci ce vor face cei care se botează pentru cei morţi? Dacă morţii nu învie nicicum, atunci de ce se mai botează pentru ei? 30 Iar noi, noi de ce mai înfruntăm primejdii în fiecare clipă? 31 În fiecare zi stau în faţa morţii! Da, într-adevăr, fraţilor, jur pe cinstea pe care o primesc pentru voi în Hristos Iisus, Domnul nostru. 32 Dacă omeneşte vorbind , m-am luptat cu fiarele din Efes, ce folos aş avea dacă morţii nu ar învia?
Să mâncăm şi să bem
că mâine vom muri.
33 Nu vă amăgiţi!
Tovărăşiile rele strică obiceiurile bune.
34 Treziţi-vă cum se cuvine şi nu mai păcătuiţi, fiindcă unii dintre voi nu au cunoaştere de Dumnezeu – spre ruşinea voastră o spun!
Trupul înviat
35 Dar poate cineva se întreabă: „Cum învie morţii? Cu ce trup vor veni?” 36 Om nesăbuit! Ceea ce semeni nu prinde viaţă decât dacă moare mai întâi. 37 Ceea ce semeni tu nu este trupul care va fi apoi, ci doar un grăunte, fie de grâu fie de altceva. 38 Dar Dumnezeu îi dă acelui grăunte un trup, după cum voieşte; şi fiecărei seminţe câte un trup. 39 Nu toate trupurile sunt la fel, ci unul este trupul omului, altul al animalului, altul al păsării, altul al peştelui. 40 Sunt şi trupuri cereşti şi trupuri pământeşti; dar una este slava celor cereşti, alta a celor pământeşti. 41 Una este slava soarelui, alta este slava lunii, alta a stelelor. Fiindcă fiecare stea se deosebeşte de cealaltă.
42 Tot aşa este şi învierea morţilor: se seamănă în stricăciune, dar este înviat în neputrezire. 43 Se seamănă în necinste, dar învie în slavă; se seamănă în slăbiciune, dar învie în putere; 44 se seamănă un trup firesc, dar învie un trup duhovnicesc. Dacă există un trup firesc, există şi unul duhovnicesc, 45 precum stă scris: omul cel dintâi, Adam, a fost făcut cu suflet viu ; iar Adam cel de pe urmă, cu Duh dătător de viaţă. 46 Deci nu a fost întâi cel duhovnicesc, ci cel firesc. Iar cel duhovnicesc vine pe urmă. 47 Omul cel dintâi este din pământ, pământesc; omul cel de-al doilea este din cer. 48 Precum este cel pământesc, la fel sunt şi cei pământeşti; şi cum este cel ceresc, aşa sunt şi cei cereşti. 49 Şi după cum am purtat chipul celui pământesc, tot aşa vom purta şi chipul celui ceresc.
50 Eu zic aceasta, fraţilor: trupul şi sângele nu pot moşteni Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu, nici putrezirea nu moşteneşte neputrezirea. 51 Iată, vă spun o taină: nu toţi vom muri, dar toţi vom fi preschimbaţi 52 deodată, cât ai clipi din ochi, la trâmbiţa de apoi; căci trâmbiţa va suna şi morţii vor învia nesupuşi putrezirii, iar noi vom fi preschimbaţi, 53 pentru că trebuie ca acest trup supus putrezirii să se îmbrace în neputrezire şi acest trup muritor să se îmbrace în nemurire. 54 Iar când acest trup supus putrezirii se va îmbrăca în neputrezire şi acest trup muritor se va îmbrăca în nemurire, atunci se va împlini cuvântul care stă scris:
Moartea a fost înghiţită de biruinţă.
55 Unde-ţi este, moarte, biruinţa?
Unde-ţi este, moarte, ghimpele?
56 Iar ghimpele morţii este păcatul, iar puterea păcatului este legea. 57 Să aducem mulţumire lui Dumnezeu, cel ce ne-a dat biruinţa prin Domnul nostru Iisus Hristos. 58 De aceea, fraţii mei iubiţi, fiţi tari, neclintiţi, sporind totdeauna în lucrarea Domnului, ştiind că truda voastră nu este degeaba în Domnul.
