1 And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city. 2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee. 3 And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth. 4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? 5 For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk? 6 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. 7 And he arose, and departed to his house. 8 But when the multitudes saw it , they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.
9 ¶ And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.
10 ¶ And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples. 11 And when the Pharisees saw it , they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners? 12 But when Jesus heard that , he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. 13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
14 ¶ Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not? 15 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast. 16 No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse. 17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
18 ¶ While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live. 19 And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples.
20 ¶ And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him , and touched the hem of his garment: 21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. 22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour. 23 And when Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise, 24 He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn. 25 But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose. 26 And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.
27 ¶ And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us. 28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. 29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. 30 And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it . 31 But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.
32 ¶ As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil. 33 And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel. 34 But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils. 35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
36 ¶ But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
Vindecarea unui om paralizat
1 Iisus s-a suit într-o corabie, a trecut marea şi a mers în cetatea Sa. 2 Şi iată că I-au adus un om paralizat, care zăcea la pat. Iisus le-a văzut credinţa şi a zis paraliticului: „Îndrăzneşte, fiule! Păcatele îţi sunt iertate!” 3 Atunci, unii dintre cărturari şi-au zis în sinea lor: „Omul acesta rosteşte blasfemii!” 4 Iisus, care le cunoştea gândurile, le-a spus: „Pentru ce aveţi gânduri rele în inimile voastre? 5 Ce este mai uşor să zici: Iertate îţi sunt păcatele, sau: Scoală-te şi umblă? 6 Dar, ca să ştiţi că Fiul Omului are putere pe pământ să ierte păcatele” – „Ridică-te!” i-a zis celui paralizat, „Ia-ţi patul şi du-te acasă!” 7 Paraliticul s-a ridicat şi s-a dus acasă. 8 Când au văzut mulţimile lucrul acesta s-au înspăimântat şi au dat slavă lui Dumnezeu, care le-a dat oamenilor o astfel de putere.
Chemarea lui Levi; Iisus stă la masă cu vameşii
9 De acolo, Iisus a mers mai departe şi a văzut un om numit Matei, stând la vamă. Şi i-a zis: „Vino după Mine!” Omul acela s-a ridicat şi a mers după El. 10 Pe când stătea Iisus la masă, în casă, iată că au venit o mulţime de vameşi şi păcătoşi şi au şezut la masă cu El şi cu ucenicii Lui. 11 Fariseii au văzut lucrul acesta şi le-au zis ucenicilor lui: „Pentru ce mănâncă Învăţătorul vostru cu vameşii şi cu păcătoşii?” 12 Iisus i-a auzit şi le-a zis: „Nu cei sănătoşi au nevoie de doctor, ci bolnavii. 13 Duceţi-vă de învăţaţi ce înseamnă: Milă voiesc, iar nu jertfă! Căci n-am venit să chem la pocăinţă pe cei drepţi, ci pe cei păcătoşi.”
Postul, vinul nou şi haina nouă
14 Atunci ucenicii lui Ioan au venit la Iisus şi I-au zis: „De ce noi şi fariseii postim des, iar ucenicii Tăi nu postesc deloc?” 15 Iisus le-a răspuns: „Oare se întristează nuntaşii câtă vreme este mirele cu ei? Vor veni zile când mirele va fi luat de la ei şi atunci vor posti. 16 Nimeni nu pune un petec de postav nou la o haină veche, pentru că haina s-ar destrăma şi ruptura s-ar face şi mai mare. 17 Iar oamenii nu pun vinul nou în burdufuri vechi; altfel, burdufurile plesnesc, vinul se varsă, iar burdufurile se strică; ci vinul nou se pune în burdufuri noi şi se păstrează amândouă.”
Învierea fiicei unui fruntaş al sinagogii
18 Pe când le spunea Iisus aceste vorbe, iată că a venit unul din fruntaşii sinagogii, I s-a închinat şi I-a zis: „Fiica mea a murit adineauri; vino şi pune-Ţi mâinile peste ea şi va învia!” 19 Iisus s-a sculat şi a plecat după el împreună cu ucenicii Lui. 20 Şi iată că o femeie, care de doisprezece ani suferea de o sângerare, a venit prin spate şi s-a atins de poala hainei Lui. 21 Fiindcă ea îşi zicea: „Numai să mă ating de haina Lui şi mă voi vindeca.” 22 Iisus s-a întors, a văzut-o şi i-a zis: „Îndrăzneşte, fiică! Credinţa ta te-a vindecat.” Şi chiar în clipa aceea femeia s-a vindecat. 23 Când a ajuns Iisus în casa mai marelui sinagogii şi când a văzut pe cei ce cântau din fluier şi mulţimea jelind, 24 le-a zis: „Daţi-vă la o parte, fiindcă fetiţa n-a murit, ci doarme!” Ei Îl luau în râs. 25 Şi, după ce a fost scoasă mulţimea afară, Iisus a intrat în casă, a luat-o pe fetiţă de mână, iar ea s-a sculat. 26 Şi s-a dus vestea despre această minune în tot ţinutul acela.
Vindecarea a doi orbi şi a unui demonizat
27 Când a plecat de acolo, doi orbi s-au luat după Iisus şi au început să strige: „Ai milă de noi, Fiul lui David!” 28 După ce a intrat în casă, orbii au venit la El. Şi Iisus le-a zis: „Credeţi că pot face lucrul acesta?” „Da, Doamne!” I-au răspuns ei. 29 Atunci le-a atins ochii şi a zis: „Fie după credinţa voastră!” 30 Şi li s-au deschis ochii. Iisus le-a poruncit: „Vedeţi, să nu afle nimeni.” 31 Dar ei, cum au ieşit afară, au răspândit vestea despre El în tot ţinutul acela. 32 Pe când plecau orbii aceştia, iată că au adus la Iisus un mut stăpânit de un demon. 33 După ce a fost scos demonul din el, mutul a vorbit. Şi mulţimile, mirate, ziceau: „Niciodată nu s-a mai văzut aşa ceva în Israel!” 34 Dar fariseii ziceau: „Cu stăpânul demonilor scoate El demonii!”
Secerişul mare
35 Iisus străbătea toate cetăţile şi satele, învăţând în sinagogi, predicând evanghelia Împărăţiei şi vindecând orice boală şi orice slăbiciune. 36 Când a văzut mulţimile, I s-a făcut milă de ele, pentru că erau necăjite şi risipite, ca nişte oi fără păstor. 37 Atunci a zis ucenicilor Săi: „Este mult de secerat, dar lucrătorii sunt puţini! 38 Rugaţi-L deci pe Domnul secerişului să trimită lucrători la secerişul Lui.”
