1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. 2 And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun. 3 And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre? 4 And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great. 5 And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted. 6 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. 7 But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you. 8 And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any man ; for they were afraid.
9 ¶ Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. 10 And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. 11 And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.
12 ¶ After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country. 13 And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them.
14 ¶ Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
19 ¶ So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. 20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them , and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
Învierea lui Iisus
1 După ce a trecut ziua sâmbetei, Maria Magdalena şi Maria a lui Iacov şi Salomeea au cumpărat miresme ca să vină să-L ungă. 2 Şi, în prima zi de după sâmbătă, au venit la mormânt foarte de dimineaţă, pe când răsărea soarele. 3 Şi se întrebau între ele aşa: „Oare cine ne va răsturna piatra de pe uşa mormântului?” 4 Căci piatra era foarte mare. Dar când şi-au ridicat ochii, au văzut că fusese răsturnată. 5 Iar când au intrat în mormânt au văzut şezând la dreapta un tânăr îmbrăcat în veşmânt alb şi s-au înspăimântat. 6 Dar el le-a zis: „Nu vă înspăimântaţi! Pe Iisus Nazarineanul cel răstignit Îl căutaţi? A înviat, nu este aici! Iată locul unde L-au pus. 7 Dar mergeţi să spuneţi ucenicilor lui şi lui Petru că va merge înaintea voastră în Galileea; acolo Îl veţi vedea, după cum v-a spus.” 8 Şi ele au ieşit şi au fugit de la mormânt, pentru că le era foarte frică şi se minunau. Şi n-au spus nimănui nimic fiindcă se temeau.
9 În dimineaţa în care a înviat, în prima zi de după sâmbătă, Iisus s-a arătat prima dată Mariei Magdalena, cea din care alungase şapte demoni. 10 Ea s-a dus şi a vestit celor ce erau cu El, care se tânguiau şi plângeau. 11 Dar ei, când au auzit că este viu şi că a fost văzut de ea, n-au crezut.
12 După aceea, s-a arătat la doi dintre ei care mergeau la câmp şi a mers pe drum cu ei în alt chip, necunoscut. 13 Aceştia, când s-au întors, au vestit şi celorlalţi, dar nici pe ei nu i-au crezut.
Trimiterea apostolilor
14 Apoi, s-a arătat celor unsprezece care erau aşezaţi la masă şi i-a mustrat pentru necredinţa lor şi pentru împietrirea inimii, pentru că nu-i crezuseră pe cei care l-au văzut înviat. 15 Şi le-a zis: „Mergeţi în lumea întreagă să vestiţi evanghelia oricărei făpturi. 16 Cel ce va crede şi se va boteza va fi mântuit, iar cel ce nu va crede va fi osândit. 17 Şi semnele acestea vor urma celor ce vor crede: în Numele Meu vor scoate demoni, vor grăi în limbi noi, 18 vor lua în mâini şerpi şi chiar dacă vor bea ceva aducător de moarte nu vor fi vătămaţi; îşi vor pune mâinile peste bolnavi şi se vor face bine.”
Înălţarea lui Iisus
19 Astfel, Domnul Iisus, după ce a vorbit cu ei, s-a înălţat la cer şi a şezut la dreapta lui Dumnezeu. 20 Iar ei au plecat şi au propovăduit pretutindeni. Domnul lucra împreună cu ei şi adeverea cuvântul lor prin semnele care îi însoţeau.
